The Carolina Dog Training Club offers a discount on obedience training for dogs who are rescued/adopted from, or being fostered for a rescue organization. We offer a $25 discount on the dog's first beginner level class (this includes Puppy I Class, Puppy II Class and Beginner I Class). We would love to help your newly acquired pet acclimate to their new family and environment more quickly. What better way to do it than to learn obedience together? Obedience training encourages the bond and respect between owner and companion, while practicing basic obedience commands that encourage good manors. Please help us encourage the community to have better relationships with their pets, and help keep pets out of shelters. We do recommend waiting about 3 months after rescuing a dog before starting obedience training. This is a team sport which requires a basic bond between handler and dog. The 3 month time period allows the dog to decompress, get used to their new environment, family, and routine, and then to start bonding with you.
Requirements to receive the rescue/foster discount:
- In order to qualify for the rescue/foster discount, the dog must be rescued from a rescue organization or shelter, or is currently being fostered for one of those groups.
- We require a copy of the adoption papers for our records. We do not need the entire agreement, but we do need documentation that shows the rescue agency by name, the new owner's name, and the dog's name at time of rescue (we understand that the dog's name may change after you adopt it). Fosters: A copy of the foster agreement between you and the rescue group is required in lieu of the adoption paperwork.
- All other requirements for obedience class registration apply. Please see the specific class page for registration requirements
- The discount is only available on your first beginner level class. Classes qualified for the discount: Puppy I Class, Puppy II Class and Beginner I Class
